- Account opening

Two fees, clearly stated.
Special fee rate will apply on request for AUM above SGD 500,000 (please contact us).
Fees are calculated based on each end of day net asset value (NAV) of your portfolio and also deducted daily from your account. For example, management fees for April will be deducted daily with total fees shown and reflected in your May monthly statement.
Calculated on a time-weighted first-in-first-out approach, based on each portfolio’s underlying USD value. High watermark feature will apply.
The Performance Fee is calculated as a percentage of the absolute return based on the original capital investment received after conversion into the base USD value of each SqSave portfolio. The Performance Fee is calculated once a year, at each calendar year-end.

How does High Watermark work?
Charging performance fee only if the particular SqSave portfolio exceeds the highest NAV* it has ever achieved.
Year 0
Year 1
Year 2
Year 3
Year 4
- Year 1: NAV rises from $100 to $110. Fee = ($110 − $100) × 10% = $1. The watermark moves to $110.
- Year 2: NAV falls to $90. No fee — nothing is charged on a loss.
- Year 3: NAV recovers to $100. Still no fee, because it has not passed the $110 watermark.
- Year 4: NAV reaches $120. Fee = ($120 − $110) × 10% = $1 — only on the gain above the old high.
*NAV based on underlying USD value.
Smart Investors Pay for Performance
Aligned with your interest
A Performance Fee structure is aligned with your interest. It is paid out of actual returns achieved, and not from the base capital. A high watermark will make it fair that the investor only pays for actual positive returns over the investment period.
No human greed
A human investment manager rewarded by performance fees may take excessive risks because of greed. However, SqSave portfolios are managed by machine-learning AI. Machines don’t have that human greed and will remain consistently objective.
Fees FAQ
The Fees and Charges for the Global ETF portfolios are (i) Annual Management Fee (ii) Performance Fee.
(i) Annual Management Fee
0.50 per cent per annum - calculated and paid daily based on the daily average market value of portfolio assets.
(ii) Performance Fee
10 per cent of the annual absolute USD return with USD highwater mark, calculated based on each portfolio's underlying USD value after each calendar year-end, and paid in arrears.
Fees are automatically deducted from your portfolio(s). The Annual Management Fee is deducted daily while the Performance Fee is deducted after each calendar year end.
At SqSave, we want to align our interests with you. We only receive a Performance Fee when we generate a positive net excess return for you over the full calendar year, and with a highwater mark. This means we only get the Performance Fee when we really generate a return over the market cycles. We believe it also shows confidence in our long term performance.
The Performance Fee calculation is accrued only when the USD highwater mark is exceeded. This ensures that a Performance Fee is charged only when any previous losses have been recovered. The highwater mark for each portfolio will initially be set equal to the USD value of the portfolio when you start.
